The greatest challenge for least developed and developing countries as far as education is concerned is to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, with an “Education for All” approaches and strategies
This project is to set a standard for Cameroon to reach the SDGs by setting the following platforms in the educational sector in Cameroon:
1 – A self-learning system with all Cameroon educational syllabuses that allow students to learn from anywhere
2 – A collaborative platform that brings together teachers and students beyond borders to collaborate in an online learning environment
3 – A platform that enables the project work with Best teachers and tutors nationwide to develop Audio/visual tutorials for students to learn from the comfort on the home, office and so on
The project idea evolved following the development in late 2011 (October), when emphasis on IT education in Cameroon was officially declared compulsory by the educational board, but so much is still needed to bridge the gap between ICT and its Educational benefits, as well as career linkages that are currently influenced by the following obstacles:
- Inadequate or Limited IT orientation and sensitization of students and teachers on the ICT and Educational/Career Linkages
- Limited or no access to computer labs and internet facilities in schools where students could practically experience the impact of ICT on their learning ability
No platform to integrate ICT in teaching
