GHS LIMBE

GHS LIMBEGovernment High School (Lycée Classique de), Limbe as it is known today was created by a Ministerial Decree of October 1975. The school opened its doors with a student population of 106 (64 boys and 42 girls) in November 1975.

Because of the late start of its first academic year of 1975/1976, the pioneer students were interestingly enrolled without the required interviews. Nonetheless, the pioneer administrators conducted a convenient screening of the first batch of students. This became the only Government Secondary School in Victoria (now Limbe). It started as Government Secondary Grammar School (GSGS) Victoria. The name was later changed to Government Secondary School (GSS) Victoria and then Government High School, Limbe in the year 1981. In the 1988/1989 Academic Year, the school won an added status with the inclusion of Latin on its academic programme. View site button
